cool highland area, ranging from 600 to 800 meters in elevation, is a rare sanctuary of \"granite terroir.\"\u003cbr\u003eOver tens of thousands of years, granite has weathered into white, fine, sandy \"masa soil,\" which provides excellent drainage.\u003cbr\u003ebut this harsh, poor soil environment pushes the vines’ vitality to the limit, encouraging deep root growth and producing concentrated fruit that fully reflects the land’s character.\u003cbr\u003eWines made from grapes grown in granite soils are generally elegant with pronounced acidity and minerality,\u003cbr\u003eThis Granite wine fully showcases the soil’s personality, resulting in a structured wine with acidity and mineral backbone.\u003cbr\u003e2023 was the first year we vinified grapes from Hokuto, so we focused on straightforwardly expressing the soil and grape character.\u003cbr\u003ePlease enjoy the distinct expression of granite soil, clearly different from the bright and light wines produced in our sandy soils at Kakudahama.\u003cbr\u003eNotes of blackcurrant, graphite, black pepper, licorice, and rosemary, with black fruit acidity and spicy, herbal nuances.\u003cbr\u003eWith the addition of Tannat, earthy notes and strong gripping tannins emerge, while a linear and robust acidity extends beneath the powerful fruit flavors.\u003cbr\u003eFirm and tense acidity promises great aging
