The 2022 vintage was filtered, giving it a very clean image, but the 2023 vintage is bottled with only coarse filtration, resulting in a finish rich in umami. The color is ruby.
It has a clearly recognizable Merlot aroma with notes of plum and violet, along with nuances of dark fruit, and the aroma volume is greater than the previous year.There is a slight earthy scent, which may be a characteristic of this vineyard.
The taste is dry, with distinct acidity typical of the Takadashima Vineyard, a crispy nuance, and a somewhat long finish. The 2023 Village Merlot is an excellent vintage Merlot in both quality and quantity.
