Koaso Farm / RILL Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot 2019 (Red) 750ml
Regular price ¥3,080European red grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, cultivated in Koanso, were fermented in stainless steel tanks. The strong tannins were balanced with oak chips to create a lighter red wine that is not too heavy.
In 2019, the Chikuma River basin in Nagano Prefecture was directly hit by Typhoon No. 19, and near Koanso Farm, the Chikuma River railway bridge of the local Ueda Electric Railway collapsed. This Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested the day before the typhoon to avoid the storm. Unlike heavier Bordeaux-style wines, it has higher acidity but a moderate tannin level, resulting in a well-balanced red wine. It pairs especially well with cheese and fruit.
