In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many wineries reduced their wine production, leading to a decrease in the volume of grapes purchased from growers by wineries.
The Rivers Partner's Cucee series is a négociant brand created by purchasing grapes to support grape growers during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is made from fully ripe Chardonnay grown by vineyard farmers at a winery in Takahata, Yamagata Prefecture.
From grapes grown under rain-protective house roofs in the fields, you can enjoy a full-bodied, authentic Chardonnay with subtle bitterness that is interesting, reflecting the cool climate of Yamagata, compared to the strong-flavored Chardonnay from Koanso.
