Genki Iwasaki / Tochigi Rouge "Village" 2025 (Red) 750ml
Regular price ¥5,500/
Including tax
In 2025, although spring had very heavy rainfall, the summer saw very little rain,
The monthly rainfall in August, when Berry A reached veraison, was a record low 58.5mm.
The grapes showed good color and sugar content.
Especially the 50-year-old old vine Berry A (about 20% of the total) was in excellent condition, so the entire amount was placed whole-cluster into the tank.
Merlot ripening was slow, so it was harvested in late November in a raisin-like state.
Since the grape skins were not fully ripe, it was fermented for only four days before pressing and blended with Berry A.
Charming fruitiness typical of Berry A, with Merlot providing structure and a subtle raisin note in the background, creating a complex taste.
Appearance is a clear, bright, slightly pale purplish ruby red.
Aroma of ripe raspberries, strawberries, red cherries, violets, cinnamon, dried flowers, with hints of earth and damp leaves.
The flavor attack is soft and dry.
Medium-bodied with slightly high acidity and smooth tannins.
A smooth, well-balanced red wine with an earthy atmosphere, featuring red fruit flavors and subtle sweet spice nuances.
