In a grape-producing area of a certain scale like Ohira Town, the taste is delicious but the appearance is not so good, so
A certain amount of grapes called "off-spec," which cannot be sold as table grapes, are inevitably produced.
Until now, such off-spec grapes were used as raw materials for processed products like jam and sold without the name of Ohira being displayed.
Or they were discarded.
In Burgundy, Ratafia is sometimes made from grapes of slightly lower quality.
Inspired by this, we asked Cave D'occi, which holds a liqueur license, to make Ratafia from Berry A grapes, whose skin coloring was not desirable.
It does not have the sourness of plum wine, but this type of sweet alcohol is sure to suit the Japanese palate.
It can be enjoyed gradually over a long period after opening, making it perfect as an after-dinner drink or nightcap.
The aroma features candy, caramelized nuts, dried fruits, toast, and subtle hints of apricot and hay.
The taste attack is somewhat strong, with a semi-sweet medium body.
A wine with a balanced flavor and sweetness of dried fruits and savory bitter caramel, suitable both before and after meals.
