The grape growers are a couple who relocated from Yokohama. Cultivating in Azumino is challenging, and there are still few Cabernet Franc growers. The 2023 vintage benefited from favorable weather, resulting in high-quality grapes. These memorable grapes were harvested in Azumino together with the couple and the owners of the Yokohama Vineyard seedlings managed by Yokohama Winery.
A bright, transparent ruby color. Moderate tannins and acidity. Aromas of cherry, raspberry, and violet flowers, with a smooth mouthfeel. The body is light and elegant. Pairs well with sweet onion-based sauce dishes. This is a gentle Japanese red wine that pairs effortlessly with a wide range of meals.

Cabernet Franc is often blended with other red grape varieties and is rarely made into a standalone wine product. However, at Hama Wine, we were captivated by its charming and enjoyable flavor and decided to produce it as a single-varietal wine.
