Fattoria AL FIORE / Rosato 2024 (Rosé) 750ml
Regular price ¥4,400/

This is the third release of Rosato following 2017 and 2022.
Although released infrequently, it is a wine highly rated both domestically and internationally.
Come to think of it, I have not made much rosé wine.
Although there are Imagine and the Neko series Momo (rosé sparkling), among the more than 30 cuvées every year, only those two and occasionally this Rosato appear.
Because for me, rosé wine might be the most difficult challenge.
To be frank, red, white, and orange are very easy to understand as genres, but rosé ends up in a very intermediate position, perhaps because its significance has not been clearly identified.
It is easy to bring out a clear personality, and the pale feeling becomes more delicate, so it is very strict.
Among them, I think Imagine and Rosato are very successful examples.
However, since the higher-grade cuvée of Imagine has a nuance quite similar to the previous Rosato, from this time the Rosato has been changed to a wine with a different character.
Every year, the late summer heat lingers, and the coloring of late-ripening black grapes does not progress well, so to shape that, although the coloring is not good, the grapes have very good flavor quality, and I thought to make this rosato cuvée pale.
Pale does not mean the flavor is weak, but that it is a wine carefully and cautiously crafted like a delicate broth.
I thought this method of expression is the most fitting positioning for the image of rosé in Japanese wine.
The careful craftsmanship, delicacy, and subtlety that Japanese people possess, all combined into the culture of life and food.
Because I thought it was a wine that perfectly fits the image of Japan in every aspect.
This time was a trial and error as the first step, but I feel it largely matched the ideal image.
From next year onward, I hope to further refine and deepen the expression of rosé wine in Japanese wine.
