Curvedocchi / Albariño 2023 (White) 750ml
Regular Price ¥6,160When the land and grape variety truly match, wine allows you to feel the terroir of that land through the liquid. For us, Albariño is precisely a variety that can express the terroir. As the name Tsunokadahama suggests, our own vineyard where these grapes are planted has an extremely sandy soil like a beach. The lightness of the sand without water and the crispness that slips through your hand when you scoop dry sand are also reflected in the wine. And perhaps the faint salty taste is due to the location being just 1.5 km from the coast. Although it differs in vector from the authentic Albariño from Rías Baixas in Spain, we are confident that this is undoubtedly a variety and wine adapted to the land. The year 2023 saw no rain at all from July 20 to September 15. Amid extreme water shortage causing many clusters to shrivel, this wine was made by gathering only healthy grapes. The mild acidity, strength of the fruit, and concentration reflect that climate. And surprisingly, even in such a unique climate, the most distinctive feature of sandy Albariño—the elegant aroma—can be clearly sensed from the glass. Please feel the potential of sandy Albariño.
