From late August to early September each year, in the vineyard producing Cuvée Ikegawa, some grape clusters are harvested early with the hope that the grapes will fully accumulate the blessings of the season. While we have previously returned early-harvested grapes to the soil to improve grape quality, we believed that a rosé wine with fruitiness comparable to Cuvée Ikegawa could be made. At Château Sakaori, by carefully selecting yeast and managing temperature suited to the grapes, a new style of Berry A called "Clair" was born, combining the rich strawberry-like aroma and flavorful finish of Cuvée Ikegawa with refreshing acidity and fruitiness!
