In 2023, warm days continued in early spring, causing bud break slightly earlier than usual, but flowering was almost on schedule in mid-June. After the rainy season ended on July 22, record high temperatures and very little rain persisted. Harvesting in our own vineyard started on September 15, the earliest ever for Viradest. From late September, the temperature dropped significantly in the mornings and evenings, creating excellent conditions with a large temperature difference between day and night, and harvesting was completed on October 25.
Due to the intense heat, the sugar content of the grapes increased compared to usual years, the acidity is somewhat mild, and the characteristic of this vintage is the nuance of well-ripened fruit.
