A grape variety discovered while searching for one with deep color and abundant tannins, Bijou Noir.
"Bijou" means jewel in French, and "Noir" means black, so the name translates to "Black Jewel."
A domestic hybrid variety created by crossing Koshu Sanshaku with Merlot and Malbec.
It ripens early, can be harvested before the typhoon season, and is well-suited to Tsuno.
It has a dark ruby color with aromas of plum and black berries, offering firm tannins and fruitiness, making it an excellent match for meat dishes.
