Château Mercian / Shiojiri Merlot 2018 (Red)
Regular Price ¥7,260This red wine, made from "Merlot" grown in the Shiojiri area of Nagano Prefecture, is characterized by its elegant and soft tannins. It has a solid fruitiness and a spicy aroma, with a fresh acidity and rich tannins that are well balanced. The Shiojiri area of Nagano Prefecture has been cultivating grapes since the Meiji era, and in 1976, the cultivation of the "Merlot" variety began in collaboration with contract farmers who resonated with the vision of Uesuke Asai, known as the "Father of Modern Japanese Wine." Today, it is one of the leading regions for "Merlot" in Japan.
