Bees Knees Vineyards / Purple Peaks 2022 (Red) 750ml
Regular Price ¥3,960A blend of well-colored Shiraz and Viognier that has been harvested as late as possible. The oak flavor is kept moderate, focusing on the fruitiness, but immediately after bottling, the oak is felt more strongly. It harmonizes over time.
The aroma of red fruits includes cherries, red currants, and small plums. There is a mineral sensation derived from granite soil amidst the spiciness of white pepper. A slight sweetness lingers in the aftertaste, and the nuances of lactic acid bacteria from MLF can be felt in the finish. Compared to Overdrive, it is somewhat lighter and has a charming quality, but the 2022 vintage feels heavier than previous vintages, with a sense of increasing complexity as the vines age. The astringency of the tannins is also somewhat noticeable, but there is a feeling that it may transform into something silky with bottle aging.
