Pinot Gris is a variety that is cultivated in regions such as Alsace in France, Italy, and New Zealand, and it prefers a cool climate. Therefore, at Villa Dest, it is grown in vineyards at an altitude of around 920m.
"Gris" means gray in French, and Pinot Gris has pinkish-gray fruit skins. When making wine, it is often the case that the extraction from the skins is minimized to produce white wine, but there is also a method to extract components from the skins to create rosé (orange) wine.
