The year 2021 had high temperatures from winter, marking the earliest arrival of spring in recorded history with the blooming of cherry blossoms. The growth was somewhat delayed due to the often cloudy and rainy early summer weather, and there was heavy rain in August. It was quite a challenging year, but the last month leading up to the harvest was blessed with very good weather, allowing for an excellent grape harvest.
This "CYO" may be the first and last limited collaboration wine.
Mr. Okuma from the Iwadarehara area and Mr. Yoshie from the Kataoka area, who studied together at Shiojiri Wine University.
This is a blend of the two Merlots cultivated with high quality, one from Merlot and the other from Washiba.
It has become a wine that encapsulates the goodness of each.
