Cave D'occhi / Funpy Orange 2025 (Orange) 750ml

The Funpy series pursues the potential of table grapes and aims for a fun and happy flavor.
In 2025, the base will be Delaware and Niagara, with a small amount of Ikka (orange wine from Kerner & Sauvignon Blanc) blended in.
Aiming for a light orange style, the base wine’s maceration period is kept short, but this year we reduced the number of punch-downs for a gentler extraction, so the maceration period is a bit longer—still about 14 days.
Delaware was made with 25% whole clusters, and Niagara with 100% whole clusters.
Every year we struggle with the ratio of whole clusters, but the nuances of ginger and white pepper from the stems add an accent that creates a juicy drinking experience, making it a very important part.
Aromas of muscat, Earl Grey, dried peach, and pomelo; on the palate, juicy flavors of yellow peach, apricot, and pear with the richness of the fruit skin gently spread. The finish is modest and smoothly goes down the throat.
Poured into a wine glass, it becomes more complex and gives a calm, mature impression, but when drunk from a stemless, straight glass, the fruit sweetness stands out, making it a friendly Funpy flavor you can drink easily.
Funpy is a wine you can enjoy without overthinking, but when you look closer, it’s a mysterious wine with room to engage with it.
