In 2022, bud break was late, with many paper wasp nests due to a dry early summer. The weather was good during the September harvest of Merlot and Cabernet. The grape sugar content exceeded 20 degrees. Compared to Purple Peaks, the tannins derived from Cabernet and Petit Verdot are more supple.
The oak notes evoke red to black fruits like blackcurrant, dried raisins, and figs (especially black figs). The oak flavor is moderate, with subtle hints of coffee and vanilla. There is also a menthol-like nuance. It slightly reflects the character of Bordeaux wines. There is also a flavor of brown sugar.
