Using 100% Merlot grown in our own vineyard in Azumino at an altitude of 700m, it has been aged in barrels for 13 months. Compared to Cabernet, Merlot generally has a softer taste. The Merlot, born and raised in Azumino, has been crafted into a refined and deep dry wine, possessing a gorgeous aroma and fruity flavor.
The color is a deep ruby. It has a round and juicy fruitiness and gentle tannins that come from the Merlot alone. Upon swallowing, a concentrated fruit flavor reminiscent of prune jam, along with acidity, tannins, and a gentle sweetness from the oak, spreads across the palate. The sweet aroma from the oak barrels and the concentrated scent like prune jam are pleasant. It is a full-bodied red wine with a long finish.
The wine has a moderate bitterness and acidity, making it a robust type that can be enjoyed now or aged for 5 to 6 years. If you plan to drink it right away, please open the bottle about an hour beforehand or decant it to allow it to breathe and enhance its aroma. You will be able to fully enjoy the flavors of the wine. It pairs well with hearty dishes like beef stew or rich beef dishes.
