Azumino Winery / Azumino Reserve 2021 (Red) 750ml

We blended Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated in our vineyard at an altitude of 700m and aged it in barrels for 12 months. This is the same blend as that of the Bordeaux region in France (Bordeaux blend). By blending, we have created a high-quality wine that combines the tannins and strength of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness and smoothness of Merlot.

It is a second-tier existence of the Château Azumino series. This one is about 2,000 yen cheaper, so considering the quality, it is a very good value wine.

When you take it in your mouth, you can feel the aroma of coffee and chocolate from the barrel, a scent reminiscent of cedar leaves, and a rich fruitiness like dried prunes. As you swallow, the acidity and astringency blend well together, and the concentrated fruitiness and extractive richness spread out. With a high usage rate of new barrels, the flavor of the barrel is distinctly felt. It is recommended for those who enjoy barrel aromas. This is a dry red wine with a medium to full body, featuring a soft and smooth mouthfeel, with a lingering astringency and the aroma of the barrel harmoniously balanced.
