Yokohama Winery / Whisper of Rouge 2021 (Red) 750ml

The grape growers are a couple who relocated from Yokohama. Cultivating in Azumino is challenging, and there are still few Cabernet Franc growers. The 2021 vintage benefited from favorable weather, resulting in high-quality grapes. These memorable grapes were harvested in Azumino together with the couple and the nursery owners of Yokohama Vineyard, managed by Yokohama Winery.

A bright, transparent crimson color. Moderate astringency and acidity. Aromas of cherry, raspberry, and violet flowers, with a smooth mouthfeel. The body is light and elegant. Pairs well with sweet onion-based sauce dishes. This is a gentle-tasting Japanese red wine that can be enjoyed casually with a wide range of meals. Cabernet Franc is often blended with other red grape varieties and rarely marketed as a single varietal wine, but Hamawine was captivated by its charming and enjoyable flavor and commercialized it as a single wine.
