In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wine production volume of various wineries decreased, leading to a reduction in the amount of grapes purchased from growers by wineries.
The Negociant brand Rivers Partner's Cuvee series was created by purchasing grapes from grape growers struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic and turning them into wine. It was made with fully ripe Chardonnay from growers at a winery in Takahata, Yamagata Prefecture.
From grapes grown under rain-protective house roofs in the fields, you can enjoy a full-bodied, authentic Chardonnay with subtle bitterness that is interesting, reflecting the cool climate of Yamagata, compared to the strong-flavored Chardonnay of Koanso.
