Villa Dest Winery / Vignerons Reserve Merlot 2021 (Red) 750ml

"Vinyurons Reserve" is made from 100% grapes from our own vineyards. It is a representative wine of Villa Dest, made only from carefully selected grapes.

The Merlot, carefully nurtured, was aged for about a year and a half after undergoing "kamoshi fermentation" in oak barrels. This red wine features an elegant fruitiness blended with spicy aromas, offering a robust flavor along with softness and depth.

The year 2021 was a warm winter, but due to continued low temperatures from early spring, the budding occurred around the Golden Week, which is typical for the year. Although the end of the rainy season was early on July 16, it continued to rain around the Obon festival in August, raising some concerns about the ripening of the grapes. However, once September arrived, the weather turned to refreshingly clear autumn days, resulting in a rapid increase in sugar content while maintaining acidity, allowing us to harvest high-quality and healthy grapes.
