The vineyard is located in the high-altitude Awatere Valley, which is drier and cooler than other subregions, allowing the grapes to develop slowly. Situated on a scenic river terrace, the soil is well-drained silty loam mixed with stones. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented after about a week of cold maceration, with punch-downs performed two to three times daily. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak (20% new barrels). Aromas of ripe red plum, raspberry, and cherry fruit blend with vibrant violet notes and a hint of sweet clove and cinnamon spice. This elegant Pinot Noir balances pure red fruit flavors with gentle tannins.
