Bees Knees Vineyards / Purple Peaks 2022 (Red) 750ml
Regular Price ¥3,960A co-fermentation of well-colored Syrah and Viognier harvested as late as possible. Oak flavor is restrained to emphasize fruitiness, but immediately after bottling, the oak is strongly felt. It mellows with age.
The aroma of red fruits includes cherry, red currant, and small plums. Amid the spiciness of white pepper, there is a mineral sensation derived from granite soil. A slight sweetness lingers in the aftertaste, with a lactic acid bacteria nuance from MLF felt in the finish. Compared to Overdrive, it is somewhat lighter and charming, but the 2022 vintage feels heavier than previous years, with complexity increasing with vine age. The astringency of tannins is also somewhat noticeable, but it is expected to transform into a silky texture with bottle aging.
