Bijou Noir is a grape variety discovered while searching for a variety with deep color and abundant tannins.
"Bijou" means jewel in French, "Noir" means black, so the name means "Black Jewel".
A domestic hybrid variety created by crossing Koshu Sanshaku × Merlot with Malbec.
It ripens early, can be harvested before the typhoon season, and is suitable for Tsuno.
It has a dark ruby color, with aromas of plum and black berries, firm tannins and fruitiness, and pairs excellently with meat dishes.
