Musashi Winery / Ogawa Little Prince 2020 Extreme (Red) 750ml

The 2020 vintage of the Little Prince achieved the best grape quality in history due to improvements in cultivation methods and stricter yield restrictions, with the late-harvest grapes reaching a sugar level of 29 degrees. If the quality of the grapes is good, a good wine will surely be produced.

After about 8 days of fermentation, we pressed the grapes and continued fermentation by lowering the temperature to 3°C. We hoped that the fermentation would stop midway, leaving some sweetness, but since the grapes were healthy, the fermentation did not stop and continued.

After the first fermentation is complete, it is intentionally aged for about 2 years in new American oak barrels with a strong aroma (sur lie method) without racking. The portion aged in stainless steel tanks was compressed more than planned, and it was blended with approximately 90% of the barrel-aged portion, resulting in a fragrant finish.

As before, we did not use any substances other than grapes for this preparation. During storage, we used carbon dioxide to fill the empty space in the stainless steel tanks, and during bottling, we used inert argon gas. Since we do not add sulfites, we pay attention to quality preservation during storage and bottling.

The impressions of cassis, dark cherry, and dried figs are common in Little Prince 2020, but the depth is even more remarkable, along with notes of coffee, cigar, chocolate, and the vanilla aroma of oak. On the other hand, the acidity is also well-preserved, creating a good balance that makes it easy to keep drinking. The color is a deep garnet.

This wine is already delicious now, but in 5 years and 10 years, it will undoubtedly become an even better wine. A full bottle of 876, the weather was on our side, the best wine in history.
