The Funpy series pursues the potential of table grapes and aims for a fun and happy flavor.
In 2024, Steuben and Campbell form the base, blended with small amounts of Bailey A, Yam Sauvignon, Takao, Tannat, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Each variety is fermented separately, using both natural and cultured yeast to create sharpness and fruitiness.
This year, using red-fermented Steuben as the base creates juicy, jammy fruit flavors and citrus nuances that fill the mouth.
And the key to the Funpy series is the tiny amount of Vitis vinifera assemblage.
Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon make up only 4%, but they play a crucial role in dramatically changing the flavor depending on the presence of Vitis vinifera.
Familiar and charming grape aromas for Japanese people, with red berry fruits, and subtle hints of white pepper and herbs.
On the palate, grapefruit and jammy fruit flavors with gentle acidity create a crisp drinking experience.
