The vineyard is located in the high-altitude Awatere Valley, which is drier and cooler than other subregions, allowing the grapes to grow slowly. Situated on a beautiful river terrace, the soil is a well-draining stony silt loam. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented after about a week of cold maceration, with pigeage done 2-3 times a day. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak (20% new barrels). The aroma features ripe fruits of red plum, raspberry, and cherry, harmonized with the floral scent of violet and a hint of sweet spices like clove and cinnamon. It is an elegant Pinot Noir with a pure taste of red fruits and gentle tannins.
