Using Merlot from trellised vineyards in Shiojiri City and Takayama Village, Nagano Prefecture, this wine is matured with French oak chips as a new approach. You can enjoy the toast aroma derived from French oak and refined tannins, with an elegant barrel fragrance lingering on the finish.
Looking up "prime" in the dictionary, as an adjective it means "top, main, most important, excellent, best, first-class, superb, wonderful," and as a noun it means "prime time, highest grade, finest, prime number," etc. Therefore, the Prime Series represents a series of excellent and superb Merlot wines.

Also, the numbers "401," "503," and "601" in the product name are all prime numbers, which are said to be lucky numbers.

At Domaine KOSEI, there are tanks numbered "401," "503," and "601" used for fermenting Merlot, and the Prime Series wine is made using these tanks.
