Domaine Kosei / 601 SHINSHU MERLOT 2022 (Red) 750ml
Regular price ¥3,630Using Merlot from trellised vineyards in Shiojiri City and Takayama Village, Nagano Prefecture, this wine is matured with French oak chips as a new approach. You can enjoy the toast aroma derived from French oak and refined tannins, with an elegant barrel fragrance lingering on the finish.
Looking up "prime" in the dictionary, as an adjective it means "top, main, most important, excellent, best, first-class, superb, wonderful," and as a noun it means "prime time, highest grade, finest, prime number," etc. Therefore, the Prime Series represents a series of excellent and superb Merlot wines.
Also, the numbers "401," "503," and "601" in the product name are all prime numbers, which are said to be lucky numbers.
At Domaine KOSEI, there are tanks numbered "401," "503," and "601" used for fermenting Merlot, and the Prime Series wine is made using these tanks.
Prime numbers have no discovered pattern yet. Just as searching for numbers that cannot be divided evenly is a journey, there is no set rule for extracting the best flavor from Merlot grapes, which is why it is so fascinating.
This Prime Series wine was created in pursuit of mysterious and delicious wines, much like prime numbers.
The label design is inspired by the "Ulam Spiral," which visualizes prime numbers arranged on a two-dimensional plane according to a certain rule.
