From the moment it is poured into the glass, pleasant barrel aromas along with scents of leaf mold, black tea, and spices like black pepper unfold one after another. Swirling the glass reveals sweet aromas like cocoa and brown sugar syrup, as well as floral notes such as violet. The harmonious and complex elegant bouquet heightens anticipation for the taste.
A balanced fruitiness reminiscent of prunes and moderate acidity spreads throughout the mouth. The flavor is rich, but the tannins are soft, characteristic of a tropical-style Syrah. Additionally, the barrel notes provide a nice accent, and the matured red fruit flavors offer a lingering finish to enjoy.
