Woody Farm / Moalou Petit Manseng 2019 (White Medium Dry)

The variety that sprouts the earliest and is harvested the latest in the fields we manage is the late-maturing variety Petit Manseng.
Small clusters bear small grains scattered about, and due to the thick skin, the juice extraction rate is horrifically low, making it a challenge for growers, yet it is characterized by an astonishingly high level of sweetness and acidity that makes one smile.
As of now (October 2021), we are managing about 0.7 hectares of fields using the Ichimonji short pruning method. From the well-drained black soil, we harvest high-quality grapes that evoke tropical fruits such as ripe pineapples and passion fruits.
The wine enveloped in a noble aroma of round singing has an overwhelming charm that surpasses others.
It also has a high affinity with different grape varieties, and just a little blending can enhance the richness of the wine.
Having gained confidence that this will become the core variety of wine that can only be produced here in Kamiyama, we will increase the planting area of Petit Manseng in the future.
