Using Pinot Noir vines over 20 years old from our own vineyard, we crafted this wine aiming for a gentle flavor that seeps into the body.
2022 was a tough year with rain for most of August and September. This is reflected in the wine as gentle fruitiness and higher acidity.
To be honest, the harvest season was a very challenging vintage that made us worry a lot.
The charm of sandy soil Pinot Noir lies in its elegant aroma, but if the base fruit is weak, the balance falls apart.
In the end, the microbes active before fermentation, which were more vigorous than usual, and the addition of whole clusters to add complexity somehow maintained the balance.
Right after opening, it has a slightly reductive character with hints of iron and gunpowder, giving a somewhat firm impression, but for this wine, that actually adds a nice accent.
It becomes softer and smoother over time, so I hope you can enjoy it slowly.
