The Funpy series is about exploring the potential of table grapes and aiming for a fun and happy taste.
This orange foam changes the grape varieties used almost every year, but in 2023, it is based on Delaware and Niagara, with a small amount of Koshu, Sauvignon Blanc, and Kerner blended in. Aiming for a light orange, the maceration period for the base wine is short, lasting at most about two weeks. During maceration, we activated microorganisms to create distinctive aromas and a subtle taste in the finish.
The aromas wafting from the glass are of red-fleshed melon, amber candy, and hints of spice, with a sense of muscat in the background. Upon tasting, the light bubbles and gradually expanding umami create a truly captivating experience. The orange wine, based on Delaware, is particularly promising among Japanese wines, and by adding a small amount of Vitis vinifera, it has become a flavor that can be recommended to wine lovers without any sense of incongruity.
