Mainly from the Kitahara area of Zenkoji Town at 350m elevation in Kofu City, with a small blend of Petit Verdot from Katsunuma Town. Cultivated using terraced, short-pruned vine training on planted soil.
Aroma of red berries, spices, roast, and tanned leather.
A deep garnet hue.
The flavor is smooth with a calm acidity and supple tannins that are beautifully balanced. The finish spreads umami, pairing well with lean steaks and aged cheeses.
