Mainly from the Zenkoji-cho Kitahara area at 350m elevation in Kofu City, with a small blend of Petit Verdot from Katsunuma Town. Cultivated using shelf-style single-cane pruning in volcanic soil.
Aroma of red berries, spices, roasted notes, and tanned leather.
A deep garnet hue.
The flavor is smooth with a calm acidity and supple tannins that are beautifully balanced. The finish spreads with umami, pairing well with lean steaks and aged cheeses.
