This red wine features elegant and soft tannins, made from "Merlot" grapes grown in the Shiojiri region of Nagano Prefecture. It offers a well-balanced combination of rich fruitiness, spicy aromas, fresh acidity, and full-bodied tannins. Grape cultivation in the Shiojiri area dates back to the Meiji era, and in 1976, inspired by Usuke Asai (Shogo Asai), known as the "Father of Modern Japanese Wine," contract farmers began cultivating the "Merlot" variety. Today, this region is recognized as one of Japan's leading Merlot-producing areas.
