In 2022, bud break was late, with many paper wasp nests due to a dry early summer; the weather was good during the September harvest of Merlot and Cabernet. The grape sugar content exceeded 20 degrees. Compared to Purple Peaks, the tannins derived from Cabernet and Petit Verdot are more supple.
The oak evokes red to black fruits reminiscent of black cassis, dried raisins, and figs (especially black figs). The oak flavor is moderate, with subtle hints of coffee and vanilla. There is also a nuance of menthol. It slightly conveys the atmosphere of Bordeaux wine. There is also a flavor of brown sugar.
