Kuan Zeng Farm / Rivers Parther's Cuvee Merlot 2020 (Red) 750ml

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wine production volume of various wineries decreased, leading to a reduction in the amount of grapes purchased by wineries from grape growers.
In an effort to support grape growers during the COVID-19 pandemic, we purchased grapes and turned them into wine, which is the 2020 Merlot from Rivers' Partner's Cuvee series. Mr. Sato from Kakuto Farm, who cultivated these grapes, has 40 years of experience as a contracted farmer for a major manufacturer and has received numerous awards in competitions. However, after the cultivation of this vintage, he sadly passed away. This wine is not only a relief for those affected by the pandemic but also the final work of a genius cultivator.
This Merlot showcases the characteristic fruitiness and sweetness of Merlot, while maintaining a rich body with tannins and acidity. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks without the use of barrels. The subtle roasted flavor from oak chips creates a balance that enhances the mildness of the tannins and fruitiness, deepening the taste with every sip. In 2020, we will use grapes from Kakuto Farm, which is well-known for grape cultivation in Nagano. Kakuto Farm has been accepting trainees in grape growing for many years and supplies grapes not only to famous wineries in Nagano but also across the country, resulting in a Merlot that has a solid body.
