Made with 100% Merlot grown in our own vineyard at 700 meters elevation in Azumino, aged for 13 months in barrels. Compared to Cabernet, Merlot has a generally softer taste. The Merlot grown and nurtured in Azumino has a floral aroma and fruitiness, resulting in an elegant and deeply dry wine.
The color is a deep ruby. You can taste the round, juicy fruitiness and gentle astringency from the pure Merlot. When swallowed, it reveals concentrated fruit flavors rich in prune jam-like essence, acidity, astringency, and a softly sweet oak barrel taste. The sweet aroma from the oak barrels and the concentrated prune jam scent are pleasant. This is a full-bodied red wine with a long finish.
This wine has a balanced astringency and acidity with a strong character, making it suitable to drink now or to age for 5 to 6 years. If you plan to drink it immediately, open the bottle about an hour in advance or decant it to let it breathe and release its aroma. You can fully enjoy the wine's flavor. It pairs well with beef stew and hearty beef dishes.
