Contract winemaking at Carefit Farm Winery.
In 2020, heavy rain in May caused downy mildew on the clusters, leading to early removal of affected clusters, resulting in significant yield restriction and concentrated fruit.
Harvest was delayed until late October, increasing sugar content. To add complexity, a small amount of second crop berries that ripened late on the vineyard trellis were included, adding natural acidity derived from the vines.
Stainless steel tanks used. No added sulfur dioxide, wild yeast used.
Reduced pesticide cultivation in all fields. No chemical fertilizers or herbicides used.
