During the contract winemaking period, we stored and sold wine in the warehouse of an old house rented as an office and representative’s home. The shop name at that time was "Kamoshika Liquor Store."
The name was inspired by the town’s symbolic animal, the "Kamoshika" (serow), and the word "ferment" for grapes.
We moved to Kawasaki Town in Shibata District, Miyagi Prefecture, and started making "Kamoshika Wine" with the hope that through farming activities, we could bring some vitality to this town, gather many like-minded friends, and embody a richer life.
Just like this warm label created by the kind and energetic Maki Sato, a resident of Kawasaki Town, many wonderful friends are gathering, making the town increasingly attractive.
Not only fermenting grapes, but by gathering local friends and continuing richer activities, I believe that increasing future companions who share this spirit will eventually lead to enriching this town.
Our feelings like these are the true meaning behind continuing to make "Kamoshika Wine."
A chain of kindness... In today’s world, while people in Japan can live peacefully without hardship, there are many who live next to death uncertain if they will see tomorrow, or who worry if they will have food to eat.
Being able to live each day supporting each other with smiles.
I hope that such ordinary days can continue peacefully for everyone and all living beings.
