Bucci has been continuously producing with Bailey A from the vineyard of Masato Suzuki, former chairman of the Kaminoyama Wine Grape Producers Cooperative, with whom we started our relationship during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
Everyone in the cooperative is highly dedicated and does excellent vine training, but among them, Mr. Suzuki’s single-bud spur pruning stood out remarkably in bringing everyone together.
In 2024, the fourth year, although the overall yield was not high due to the long rains caused by the autumn rain front in the latter half of the season, the quality was excellent with very high ripeness, resulting in great grapes.
In 2023, the production was passed on to Hayato, the son, and many producers in Kaminoyama City are successors in their 40s like the winemaker Meguro, who are more conscious about wine, so we believe we can continue to improve over the long term.
With concentrated fruit flavors, vibrant acidity, and rich umami, this is the best-balanced Bucci we have ever produced.
At this quality level, Bailey A rivals the top cuvée Nero we have released so far, but Neko aims to release wines within the same year to offer a more approachable taste and price to as many people as possible! Therefore, the price is kept within Neko’s range.
Like Nero, if you let it age for about two more years, it will become more harmonious, with greater depth of flavor, more pronounced aroma, and a smoother integration of acidity.
