Fattoria AL FIORE/Cirol 2023 (White) 750ml

Every year, we receive great acclaim for Cirol. Unlike the usual field blend white version from Mr. Ohno, this year, we have created a wine that is like a selection of the best from the elite farmers we are currently contracted with in various regions of Yamagata.

The Red Millenium that characterizes Cirol is of course still present, with a scent reminiscent of rose perfume, while also perfectly balancing a slightly rich barrel aroma. This year, the blend consists of four varieties: Chardonnay, Red Millenium, Delaware, and the Brandy of Noir from Steuben, which will be used for Bianco.

Not limited to the NECO series, the improvement in the quality of wine is not a coincidence. The relationship with farmers becomes closer as the years go by, and mutual trust is deepened, which I believe is evidence of the improvement in grape quality and the winery's experience. While single varietals of wine grapes such as Chardonnay and Merlot are certainly wonderful, the assemblage of uniquely Japanese grapes and wine-specific grapes is a combination not found overseas. Breaking through that barrier, this Tyrol, which pursues Japanese characteristics without being constrained by the preconceived notion of "Japanese white wine on Japanese dining tables," is highly regarded both domestically and internationally. We hope to cherish both, rather than determining which is better or worse.
